Chris
Dodds
Back in the UK after an extended stint with Oksigen FM, the no.1 dance
station in Bosnia, Chris Dodds brings his own brand of progressive
and uplifting trance back home. Recent UK appearances alongside worldwide
superstars such as Taucher, Azzido da Bass and UK legend Rob
Tissera have only enhanced the buzz already circulating around this
exciting and talented young dj. Chris was part of the hugely successful
Slinky club tour of Bosnia featured in October's Mixmag, and filmed
for Channel 4. Chris, along with Daniel Bailey and Tim Lyall delivered
the full UK club experience to Bosnia, giving Eastern Europe a taste
of how it's done in England, with Chris's energetic and dynamic performances
lifting the roof at every venue.
Although a
closely guarded secret in the UK so far, Chris continues to host
the `Eclectic mix', for Oksigen FM, the top rated dance show in
Bosnia with listening figures of 50,000 plus, and his reputation
as an exciting and creative dj, is spreading fast. Chris has been
mixing his style of uplifting trance for over six years now, and
his sets are evidence of his ability to mix the old with the new.
2001 has been an exciting year for Chris, the highlights including
playing to crowds of over 10,000 while live on-air in a three-hour
broadcast to 55,000 listeners at the Futura 2001 festival in Sarajevo
in July, working alongside UK heavyweights on the Slinky tour, and
his recent explosive UK debut for Slinky at Freedom in London.
2002 is going to be even bigger and better for Chris, a second tour
of Bosnia is already planned, and with interest from the UKs premier
clubs increasing, Chris is surely going to be in big demand in the
coming year.

Get ready for something completely diferent. A slice of UK clubland
is
headed for Bosnia. Glass Half Full, the people who brought you Slinky
Intercontinental back in September 2001 have returned with the weekend
to end all weekends. Get some sleep now, because you're in for three
sleepless nights in a row, if you can take the pace. It all starts
at the Music Hall in Banja Luka on Saturday 6th April, before moving
on to rock Night Planet FT in Novi Travnik, and the nights will
draw to a euphoric climax on Monday with a finale at KC Sportski
Sentar in Bugojno.
The three venues
will be transformed with a chest-thumping sound system, and trance-inducing
visuals courtesy of UK club promoters Club Class. These guys from
Maidstone, England, have been putting on parties and filling dancefloors
for over five years, so expect nothing less than that authentic
British vibe. Don't forget to look out for the robotic frontman
of UK rave gods Altern8, who had hits like Evapor8, as he brings
a whole new meaning to the word 'stiltwalking'.
Providing the
soundtrack to this full frontal assault on the senses are some of
UK's finest DJs, most of whom will be fresh off the plane from the
Miami Winter Music Conference (check their tans people!). Tom North,
the brains behind Glass Half Full and original London party boy
has warmed up for Dace Angel, Goldie, Seb Fontaine, Breeder, Graham
Gold and countless others.
Tomislav and Nic Fanciulli are residents at Club Class itself. Their
back-to-back DJ sets are the stuff of legend, and progressive uplifting
grooves are their trademark sound. You might remember Tomislav from
his last visit to Banja Luka supporting Boy George. Last but not
least of course it's Oksigen's very own wonderboy Chris Dodds, who's
quickly rising through the ranks with a string of domestic dates
and a recent successfull Glass Half Full CD crammed with the hard
trance German sound we've all come to expect from him.
So
there you have it. All that's left to you is to get your ticket
(upfront
in advance from Oksigen FM), grab your glowsticks and stylish clobber
and get down there on the night. Dress to impress; world famous
clubbing magazine Mixmag came to the Slinky gig in September, and
another big UK magazine is set to make the trip out this year. There'll
be the usual press and TV camera action so keep smiling.
If
that wasn't enough there'll be free CDs and more surprise giveaways
on the night. This is an opportunity not to be missed. You may not
be able to afford to sample UK clubbing, but Glass Half Full, Oksigen
and Club Class are bringing it to you. So enjoy, and see you down
the front!

Nic
Fanciulli
Past & present
Nic started
djing in 1996 and since then has worked himself up the Djing ladder.
He started of working Part time in his local record shop; there
he got a good idea what was going on in the music Industry. His
first gigs, were around Maidstone Playing in bars & House parties,
his music style varied at the time from Funk right down to breaks
just to keep a happy medium.
In 1999 Nic started producing with engineer Andrew Chaterley at
sperm Studios. Nick then also teamed up with Matt Blewett to help
with the studio their first track has just made it onto the new
Bedrock album and even though the track is a couple of years old
it still sounds up to date. After that they went onto do a remix
of Xpress 2's classic Music xpress, which got played from every
one from Deep Dish to Jon Carter.
In
2000 Matt and Nic teamed up with Owen Ingram from Plastic Surgery
to start Portent Records. The label was set up to release the more
deeper sound of house, Most of the release have had plays on radio
and have been licensed to compilations and labels all over the world.
The lads went onto setting up a sister label called Portent Plus
which was to deal with more funky sound. The first release was the
Mojolators and has been the biggest track on the label to date with
the track being played 12 weeks in a row on Radio 1 and now being
signed onto Multiply.
Nic now has a residency at Club Class in Maidstone, which all of
the elite DJs play, such as Carl Cox, Sasha & Pete Tong. On
Saturday's Nic has his own night called Aqua Boogie, which entertains
the funkier crowd. Along they way Nick has played across the world
from Cape Town to Milan. With Portent Party's in America, Ibiza
& Finland, this should be a busy & good year for Nic and
the Label.
